Bormioli Pharma materials

Production is developed on the use of different materials: PE, PP and PET are used for closures, jars and single-dose containers' productions.

By its wide range of packaging produced with eco-friendly materials, the company also pays serious attention to the protection of the environment and to ecological issues All the plastic materials used by Bormioli Pharma follow a carefully standardised routine. They are suitable for contact with food and beverages and, in almost all cases, are in conformity with the specifically related information found in European Pharmacopoeia.

This significant step forward was achieved using an innovative resin production process: in contrast to the recycled resins used up to this point, high-quality PET-R is created through chemical and not mechanical recycling. Chemical recycling is more reliable and offers significant improvement in terms of the quality of the material produced.

This new resin has similar characteristics to those of PET, and offers excellent quality in terms of both transparency and purity thanks to its extremely low level of contaminants (these are eliminated during the production process). Moreover, the production chain is based entirely in Europe.

The innovative production technology behind high-quality PET-R makes it suitable for direct contact with foodstuffs in accordance with EC Regulations no. 1935/2004 and no. 10/2011 as well as FDA (Food & Drug Administration) guidelines; it has also received approval from the Fraunhofer Institute.
